The Lifetime Achievement Award that Piet won at the 12th Annual SAMA's on 6 May '06 is the hottest news at the moment. At last the Hammer got the recognition that he so deserves and Jack Hammer is extremely proud of their master. The website has been totally updated with a new look and also features some old pics from Piet's career. Many thanks to Brian Currin for all the hard work and friendship over the years. We once again had an amazing gig at Steak & Ale on the 19th of May. Thanks to Charlene and crew for all the support. Check out the Huisgenoot of 25 May '06 for an article about Piet and the band. Tonie, Lanie, Heine, Chris and their dad will be visiting the Netherlands soon. They are going over to attend the "Pink Pop" Concert at the Megaland Stadium in Landgraaf on 3, 4 & 5 June. They are specifically looking forward to seeing "Tool", "Deftones" and "Red Hot Chili Peppers" live! PS: they promise to bring back a lot of juicy tales to tell. Duke and his wife are expecting a new addition to the family on 12 June. It's a boy! We will be playing at the Volksblad Fees in Bloem on the 12th of July. Watch out Freestaters. We also plan on touring in the Western Cape again in September, we will keep you updated. BUT we are now on the way to Ponto Malongane for STRAB this weekend. This festival in Mozambique is one of the band's highlights every year and promises to again free your mind and spirit in true rock & roll fashion... (sorry Moon... rock & rock). See www.strab.co.za, the line-up is hot! New songs and chords: The band is hard at work on new songs and hopes to start recording a new album by November. There is no working title for the new album yet but there should be one soon. The 1996 Jack Hammer song "Child" featured on "Death of a Gypsy" has been revamped and is now part of the repertoire.
